“Living in Love & in the Light” (Ephesians 5:1-14)

Do you ever find yourself thinking, “it sure seems easier to read & study the scriptures than to apply & live them?” Hey, welcome to the club :-) …

It’s a constant contest within & without to not just hear what God says but to heed what God says. Knowing that’s an ongoing reality positions us to keep acknowledging & addressing it. And that’s exactly what we must keep doing.

This passage in Ephesians 5 calls & compels us to stay aware of two key truths concerning the truth of the life God intends for & through us.

Balancing the need for & expression of love & light as we journey through our days brings a confidence & commitment that keeps growing & keeps going.

Walking & Living In Love & the Light …

1. begins with a desire to “imitate God as dearly loved children.”

Ephesians 5:1

Don’t go to vs 2-14 without first embracing v1. We are God’s dearly loved children.

2. and continues with a commitment to model love & manifest light.

This is the overflow of a relationship with the One who is love & light.

Making It Real

1] How settled & sure are you that you, yes you, are a dearly loved child of God?

2] How much of your life exemplifies & expresses God’s love & light?

Action Step

Ask God for an opportunity this week to share & show God’s love & light.

Think of a person & a situation in which both are greatly needed & go for it!
